Our centre is conveniently located at the hear of Surry Hills next to Bourke St Public School.

We take pride in providing spacious outdoor areas and sustainable gardens, where children can engage in gross motor development and physical activities while also learning about the importance of sustainability and caring for the environment.

Our team of NESA Qualified Early Childhood Educators and Teachers are committed to providing a high-quality learning experience, using innovative teaching methods and evidence-based practices to ensure that every child reaches their full potential.

Heather - Centre Manager

I am a bilingual educator with over 7 years of experience working with children in Australia. I am passionate about supporting my team in creating nurturing, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environments in the heart of Sydney City. I strive to foster a space that embraces and celebrates diversity, ensuring every child feels welcomed, respected, and valued, regardless of their cultural background. By recognising each child’s uniqueness and thoughtfully incorporating it into our curriculum, we aim to inspire deeper engagement and more meaningful learning experiences.

Shristi - Educational Leader

I am originally from Nepal and hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been working in the early childhood sector for three years and currently lead my centre in the areas of educational programs and curriculum. I am passionate about creating learning environments that are inclusive, welcoming, and reflective of Aboriginal perspectives and diverse cultures.

Our Founder

Ms Vicki is the proud founder and heart of Little Lion Surry Hills.
Established in 2012, the centre was lovingly built by her son to help bring Ms Vicki’s lifelong dream to life — creating a place where children feel safe, valued, nurtured, and inspired to learn every day.
Ms Vicki has dedicated her entire life to education and care. Her passion for supporting children and families is reflected in every part of the centre. Through her selfless dedication, generosity, and unwavering commitment, she has built this centre that truly feels like a second home for every child and family.
Over the past 10+ years, Ms Vicki and her family have remained deeply involved in the centre’s daily life and community. Their hands-on approach, strong family values, and genuine care have helped the centre earn a wonderful reputation within the Surry Hills community. Many families have trusted the centre across generations, knowing their children are receiving not only quality education and care, but also love, comfort, and security.
As a family-owned and operated centre, relationships have always been at the heart of what we do. We believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, respected, and supported as they grow and develop. Our educators work closely with families to create meaningful connections and provide an environment where children can confidently explore, learn, and thrive.
Today, the centre continues its beautiful journey with the support of Little Lion, while still maintaining the same warmth, values, and family spirit that Ms Vicki envisioned from the very beginning. Together, we remain committed to providing high-quality education and care in a safe, nurturing, and home-like environment — a true “home away from home” for every child.

Our Parents Say

This is a place where your kids actually run into daycare (and don't bother looking back!) - if you pick them up early, you're in trouble cause they don't want to miss out on any activities!! The centre is small, nurturing and we found it to place great importance on the learning and development of each child. Communication was great, and we felt very comfortable having our children cared for here 5-days a week, both from age of 9mo until heading off to school. What a gem, and very rare to find! Hope you get a spot.
