Nutritious, fresh and age-appropriate meals are provided throughout the day, with special meals available for children with allergies or dietary requirements.
Families provide breast milk or formula as needed, and feeding information is recorded in Xplor for families to view.
All Little Lion centres are egg and nut free.
Upon enrolment, your child will receive a set of Little Lion cot sheet which will be washed and cleaned every week.
Every baby has their own sleep needs and routines. Our educators work closely with families to follow an agreed rest routine that best supports each child. Sleep times are recorded in Xplor, with regular 10-minute checks conducted in line with safe sleep practices.
Quality nappies and wipes are provided at all Little Lion centres. Nappies are checked and changed regularly throughout the day, with changes recorded in Xplor for families to view. Our educators follow strict hygiene procedures, including sanitising the change area after every use.
Unoccupied Play (0-3 months)
Babies begin learning about the world through movement, touch and observation. Simple experiences such as reaching, grasping, kicking and following objects help build early sensory awareness, coordination and curiosity.
Solitary Play (0-2 years)
As babies and toddlers grow, they begin to explore toys and activities independently, building concentration, confidence and problem-solving skills. Our play-based learning program is thoughtfully planned around each child’s developmental needs, strengths and interests, allowing them to explore and learn at their own pace.

As children grow, they gradually settle into a consistent centre nap routine. A regular rest schedule can support healthy sleep habits and help families maintain a similar routine at home.
We understand every child is different, and families are always welcome to discuss individual sleep needs or preferences with our educators.

Toilet training is an important step towards independence, but every child develops at their own pace. Our educators work closely with families to provide consistent and positive support when a child shows signs of readiness. We respect each family’s choices and never rush children before they are ready.
Onlooker Play (Around 2)
Children begin showing greater interest in how others play, often watching, listening and learning before joining in. These observations help children develop social awareness and begin understanding how others communicate, share and interact.
Parallel Play (2-3 years)
Children begin playing alongside others while still focusing on their own activities. Through these experiences, they build confidence around peers and gradually develop communication, sharing and early social skills.

Building Foundations for School
Our preschool program begins building the foundations children need for their transition to school. Through play, intentional teaching and everyday routines, children develop communication, early literacy and numeracy, independence, confidence and positive relationships with others.
At this age, children are developing greater independence in toileting and everyday self-care. Educators support children with toilet routines, handwashing and personal hygiene while encouraging them to do more independently when they are ready.
Children’s sleep needs continue to change as they grow. A scheduled rest period provides children with an opportunity to sleep, rest or enjoy quiet experiences during the day. Families are welcome to discuss their child’s individual sleep and rest needs with our educators.
