At Little Lion, children’s safety and wellbeing always come first. We follow the Red Nose Safe Sleeping guidelines, which are backed by expert research, to create a safe and nurturing sleep environment for every child.

SunSmart Sun Safety

At Little Lion, we are proud to be a SunSmart centre, following best-practice guidelines to protect children from harmful UV exposure. Our educators actively teach children the importance of sun safety through everyday routines.

Munch & Move

We also participate in the Munch & Move program, which promotes healthy eating and physical activity in early childhood. Through this initiative, children learn to make positive food choices and enjoy being active every day.

Start Strong Preschool Program

Little Lion is proud to be part of the NSW Government’s Start Strong program, which helps make quality early learning more affordable for families. Through this initiative, eligible children are able to access government-funded preschool hours, reducing the cost of care while ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn, play, and thrive in the years before school.

Happy Feet Fitness

At Little Lion, we believe learning should be active and fun! That’s why we welcome Happy Feet Fitness into our program — a unique movement and music experience designed to inspire children to be healthy, confident, and creative. With engaging dance, storytelling, and fitness activities, Happy Feet Fitness encourages children to develop coordination, social skills, and a love for active play.

Kids and Traffic

We also participate in the Kids and Traffic program, NSW’s early childhood road safety education initiative. Through songs, stories, and hands-on activities, children learn important messages about road safety in ways that are simple, fun, and age-appropriate. This program helps children build awareness of safe behaviours as pedestrians, passengers, and future road users — while giving families tools to reinforce safe habits at home.

Child Safe Organisation

At Little Lion, children’s safety and wellbeing are always our highest priority. We follow the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, developed by the Australian Human Rights Commission, to ensure our environment is safe, inclusive, and responsive to every child’s needs. These principles guide our daily practices and help us maintain a culture of trust, respect, and protection for all children in our care.

Australian Breastfeeding Association

At Little Lion, we are proud to partner with the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA), Australia’s leading organisation supporting breastfeeding parents. The ABA provides families with trusted information, education, and support to help make their breastfeeding journey a positive and confident experience. Through this partnership, we promote a nurturing and inclusive environment for families and help ensure every child gets the best possible start in life.
