Little Lion CBD | August 2025

This month, our preschoolers finally enjoyed their long-awaited storytime excursion to Green Square Library on a sunny day. They had a wonderful time singing songs, listening to stories with the librarian, and creating colourful rainbow crafts. The children were so engaged and had lots of fun exploring the library; it’s just amazing to see them enjoy this fun and meaningful experience.

It’s Book Month August! Our children had a wonderful month with fun activities related to books. We had Book Week Parade, parent-children reading sessions, book performances, and our Little Lion Community Library has been set up in front of our centre as an initiative to boost literacy and reading within the community. Our preschoolers expressed their creativity and created the library with their hands.

Throughout the month, we shared a variety of stories during group time, including The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Dear Zoo, and Where Is the Green Sheep? A special highlight was the Caterpillar Show drama, where the children enjoyed acting out the story—a new and exciting experience for all! Inspired by Room on the Broom, they made their own witch hats and brooms, sparking imaginative play. The children also loved our dress-up day, proudly showcasing their beautiful costumes. We marked Daffodil Day by crafting bright daffodil flowers and supporting a meaningful cause.

LOOKING INTO SEPTEMBER...

In September, there are more fun and meaningful activities awaiting.

  • The first week of September will be superhero week, and we have planned many fun arts and crafts activities for children.
  • Tuesday, 16th September, we will have a dental visit incursion. This will include an Oral Health Education talk and individual dental check-ups and cleans for the children. This is a great opportunity for children to learn about oral health and develop positive habits for life.
  • September 23rd is International Sign Language Day, and our educators will come up with fun ways to teach children some sign languages as a way to celebrate inclusivity and diversity.
