5-6 Years

At ages five to six, children exhibit major cognitive, physical, and social growth. Their communication, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities develop, alongside refined motor skills for detailed activities. They understand friendships, manage emotions, and show heightened curiosity.

At Little Lion Early Learning, we support this crucial stage, promoting an environment of curiosity, creativity, and social interaction.

Stages of Play

Cooperative Play (4-6 years)

Cooperative play is an essential component of school readiness, preparing children for success in the classroom and beyond. During this stage, typically occurring between the ages of 4 to 6 years, children strengthen important social and emotional skills that are crucial for their educational journey. By engaging in cooperative play, children develop important aspects of school readiness, including active listening, following instructions, and working harmoniously with their peers. They learn the value of teamwork and the rewards of collective effort, building a foundation for future academic success.

Health & Safety

Our weekly menu has a variety of nutritionally balanced meals to support your child’s interest in food. To prepare your child for school, our educators provide a lunchbox program towards the end of their final year.

Upon enrolment, your child will receive a set of Little Lion cot sheets. If you would like to provide additional bedding, it must be sleep safe.

This classroom has a sleep/rest period from 12:30pm – 2:30pm. However children that show ‘sleep cues’ or request a bed throughout the day, will be supported by an educator to have a rest

Our Educators will support your child to learn healthy bathroom practices such as hand washing and toilet training, ensuring they understand the importance of hygiene and self-care routines in a  supportive and safe environment.
