3-DAY CCS GUARANTEE | NEW POLICY STARTING JAN 2026
From January 2026, all CCS-eligible familes will be guaranteed to a minimum of 3 days childcare subsidies (CCS) per week, making early learning more affordable and accessible.
Little Lion is thrilled to share some fantastic news that will make early learning more affordable and accessible for families across Australia.
From 1 January 2026, the Australian Government is introducing the 3-Day Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Guarantee. This important change means that every CCS-eligible family will receive at least 72 hours per fortnight (3 days per week) of subsidised care , regardless of work, study, or volunteering activity.
What does this mean for families?
✅ More support for all families – no matter your activity level, you will have access to at least three days of subsidised early learning each week.
✅ First Nations families will receive 100 hours of subsidised care per fortnight, without the need to meet the activity test.
✅ Families already meeting the activity test (through work, study, or volunteering) will continue to have access to up to 100 hours per fortnight.
This reform is designed to ensure that every child has the opportunity to benefit from high-quality early learning, giving them the best possible start in life.
